DSI Awarded Grant

Discover STEAM is awarded a grant from MCEDC! Special thanks to BUGSS of Baltimore for being our fiscal sponsor to make this award possible. The grant may be retrospectively applied through March 2020 and expires December 2021. This funding will support our Equipment Loaning program, re-opening our Young Scientists' Workshops Series, and expanding our Science Fair Mentoring programs.

DSI celebrates a new partnership with COMPASS, a homeschooling in-person course provider.

This coming academic year, 2021-2022, Discover STEAM Inc. will be providing science curriculum and teachers for grades K-8. The K-4 students will be engaged in learning about electricity and circuits through build projects with snap circuits, conductive clay and paper circuits. Grades 5-8 will learn about the world they live in and their own bodies, through the lens of genetics and biochemistry.

DSI moves AP Biology Classes online for California, N. Carolina, and Maryland Students in 2020-2021.

In response to the pandemic, DSI rolled out our new online courses program beginning with Advanced High School Biology. Efforts are now underway to expand our online offerings and include asynchronous learning options. We see value in this resource for many underserved populations including students who are homeschooled, students on medical leave, any student with a lack of access and students needing supplemental support.
